Keywords:(WSB Radio) The Fulton County School District is looking at a budget short fall that could be $140 million.
School Superintendent Cindy Loe is considering cuts that include jobs and programs like music, art and theatre.
Parents think that cutting the arts is a bad idea.
"I think it's terrible," says Sarah Goss. "Music and arts are extremely important. Lots of kids express themselves those ways."
The district could shed up to a thousand jobs and that might include school resources officers at high schools.
"Unfortunately, the current situation forces me to make additional recommendations that impact personnel," Loe says.
